The Redneck Way.
Sixty five to twenty something,
heading south ya know what I mean,
the interstate connection,
across some mountains lived and seen;
if y'all ain't been, get on down here for some outdoors fun,
the air and dirt while bursting in the skies of dreams and then some;
Won't you come on down,
promise you'll love our town,
a community glued together,
we'll be there holding your hand cornering frowns,
love and family is the kool way honey dears,
we got the front, middle, and wrappings not behind just as we were reared;
Southbound but up,
rounding curves one wouldn't wish to jump,
it's a long fall to the valley,
no need to cross that guard rail and speed bump,
we want you to visit whole,
not smushed arriving as a loud thump;
Up, down, across, rounding south,
we got supper ready and your welcome without doubt,
cooking some homemade apple fritters full of gluten for dessert,
fill a tummy and find yourself a peaceful nap and closed mouth;
Ya'll come on now, ya hear,
after we eat some great food we'll sit on the porch and drink coffee,
got some bottled water, whiskey, and even a cold beer,
guaranteed good conversation headed forward,
because we were taught to ride with gear,
in front, pushing at the middle section, yes um even while pulling up the rear.
