In the Jewelled flush...

by royowen

In the jewelled flush of morning-
or twilight's peaceful hush;
in the heat and height of daylight
do weighty worries crush?

Does your conscience drift in mourning
to others as they lie?
In their depths of human suffering
feel helpless as they cry?

Have you given thanks for dear ones
their care in safety keep?
Or forget and let them languish?
On their dusty shelves they sleep.

For I too in guilt am sullied
in thoughtfulness I'm weak;
this I pray that God forgives me
compassion Lord... I seek.

Recognized

I have not always been diligent in care and prayer for others, but yet God has been gracious to me.
Have I always been grateful?...No. I have seen the face of human suffering, I've travelled much. These days with the wonder of T.V. to bring it into our homes we're confronted by human tragedy every day.
If you believe in a wondrous, compassionate God do you pray? Or does it slip.
I believe, but I'm weak also.
Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God. which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
