I Ain't Going

Question Contest Winner
Do you know what I thought of today
as I walked along the park?,
All around were flowers and shrubs
and trees with an interesting bark

Have you had perfumes and colours
fill your senses with delight?
Have you ever thought of Heaven
to where we must take flight?

Have you ever sat and overlooked the pond
and watched the swans glide by?
I began to talk with God at length
about all the beauty nearby.

'Have you got trees, and parks and things
or brooks and waterfalls?
Is there fruit to eat, sweet bells that ring?
Can we hear birds and their calls?

Can we hear the cries of newborn babes
Or words of love mothers say?
Will music fill the tranquil air?
Will you save a harp for me to play?

Shall I tell you something now, dear Lord?
And this might be my ruin
If you can't tell me they'll be there,
Well, Lord, I just ain't goin'!

Writing Prompt
Write a poem in which every stanza either begins with a question or ends with a question.

Contest Winner

I had already written this one when I saw the contest, so I altered a few lines to fit in with requirements. Do you think I might have spoiled it? (Only joking-thought I'd end with a question.) Thank you CammyCards, for letting me use your lovely picture,
