BECAUSE WE WERE TAUGHT

Thanks may never be forthcoming.

Expect rancor and scorn, it might be

All the reward you'll ever know.

Children come and go with dreams and

Hopes, but you may be unremembered--

Even though you were the light

   R
evealing the path to their future.

I'll never forget one of my college philosophy professors. I had to work full time and had difficulty scheduling classes around my work hours. I needed one of his classes for my degree, but couldn't fit it into my schedule.
He let me sign up for his class and met me privately in his office three hours a week and taught me the class personally. He did this on his own time with no compensation.
Yes, I have a great admiration for teachers.
