When all seems hopeless...reach for strength - a poem

A chapter in the book Spiritual Poems

I Cling To Hope

by Dawn Munro

I Cling To Hope

I cling to hope, though nothing's said aloud to fight despair;
I hold onto my trust in Him and spend my days in prayer.
Whatever choices, right or wrong, I've owned them as my own.
If God forgives, who then should fear the ones who cast a stone?

Please pray for me; I'll pray for you, and all who would be good,
for though we face a fearsome trial, temptation's been withstood.
As daylight dawns and spreads its warmth across a weary land,
we'll reach for faith and joy and love; we'll reach for Saviour's hand

and cling to hope, though nothing's said aloud to fight despair,
for we can know there's not a broken heart He can't repair.
When I am down, bereft of strength, laid low by worldly woes,
it's then I find my comfort in the One who always knows...
