A poem about my aging body

Where Did My Beautiful Body Go

by prettybluebirds

Where did my beautiful body go
I looked in the mirror and it sure is not there
I looked in the closet and under the bed
Where did my beautiful body go

Halter tops, short-shorts, and mini skirts too
These were the norm for my body of old
Where did my beautiful body go

Whatever was firm has turned to mush
There seems to be much more of my tush
Where did my beautiful body go

Bikinis, flip- flops, fun in the sun, party all night
Everyday things for my body when young
Where did my beautiful body go

Now my body craves sleep before the sun goes down
In a bikini or short shorts, my body would look like a clown
Where did my beautiful body go

I guess I'll just be grateful that I still have a body to live in
Without my body I couldn't be; still I would like to know
Where did my beautiful body go

I'm not much of a hand at this poetry stuff but thought I would give it a shot. The picture is actually my best friends mother. Probably taken in the 1940s
this poem is about my own aging body.
