Those Summer Walks

by RodG

I oft recall those summer walks
we used to take up mountain trails.
You led. I followed happily
through wooded glens and flowered vales.

Since years have flown and you're not here,
I oft recall those summer walks.
Our friendship bloomed because we shared
a love for nature, lengthy talks.

That special camaraderie
is what I miss the most, old friend.
I oft recall those summer walks,
the hours together we would spend.

And when I wander on a path
amidst wild flowers, ancient rocks,
I sense you're with me once again.
I oft recall those summer walks.
