A young Life Wasted

Dead Man Walking

by nomi338

A young man was walking
He appeared to be blind
Walked around in circles
Nothing much on his mind

He went on a journey
But then he lost his way
The same thing happens to
Many young kids today

Got caught up in the game
And then he lost his head
Forgot to remember
Things that his mama said

Do not trust the devil
The father of the lie
He'll pull you to the ground
And never let you fly

He will feed you poison
And watch you slowly die
Make fun of your family
As they begin to cry

The devil's not your friend
So don't get it twisted
Could have come to Jesus
Messed around and missed it

Now your soul is on ice
And your body's so cold
You bragged of dying young
No chance of getting old

You danced with the devil
Got in over your head
You'd like a "do over"
But sadly you are dead

Mama's prayers could not save
Her one son from the grave
Unlike Adam & Eve
No more will she conceive

Be on your Ps and Qs
Satan is out stalking
Ignore him if you choose
Be a dead man walking

This poem is dedicated to all the young knuckleheads who refuse to listen to their parents. Sadly some don't live long enough to learn from their mistakes.
