Oh Countless Words

by Quire's Gal

O countless words,  which ones can I command
to write a poem that I'd impart to thee?
For words, which are as limitless as sand
do drown me in a literary sea.

My thoughts run dry when e'er I wield my pen;
like some unholy dagger of the mind.
It cuts into me time and time again
and leaves my muse a ghost I cannot find.

Had I a wealth of words as poets do
no fortune would be big enough to say
so let my heart speak volumes unto you
with love so vast no poet could convey

Come close and I'll recite with every word
a thousand poems that no one ever heard.
