Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
Maybe time to reassess

Emptiness

by Sam Bates

I woke up dead,
And though not curious in life,
I raised my head to look upon
The world that now is mine.

I'd been a staid, affluent man
My time I governed skillfully
Manipulated to my needs,
But there appears no day
Or nightfall here.

I had faith in only that
Which I could touch
So could not trust in God
Or love
And certainly did not realize
The two were one.

Now, everything that I could hold,
That which I could see, not sense,
Was resting at my feet

Immovable I stood alone
And stared at emptiness
