How Many?

by sweetwoodjax

How many drops of blood were for me
as You suffered and died at Calvary?

How many stripes bore my name
as You were beaten for my shame?

How many thorns were meant to be mine
as Your flesh was ripped and became Thine?

I thank You for the sacrifice
You gladly bore to pay the price.

I thank You for the blood You shed.
For my life You gladly bled.

You paid the price to cover my sin.
You died and took back Your life again.

May I never bring shame to You
in what I say or what I do.

The preacher conducted the Lord's Supper tonight and reminded us before we took of the bread to remember that sacrifice Christ gave for us. I got the first verse in my mind right there in church. Thank you to Loyd C. Taylor for the picture.
