A Tornado is Coming (Revived)

by artisart4u

The warnings were out for hours but in spite of hope
that the tornado would pass by, it came just the same-
A whipping, twirling, howling funnel of dust and debris
that lasted for hours.

For hours it whipped, twirled and howled
throwing dust and debris
as it went along.
It took souls-
loved ones, neighbors
and strangers
who in that moment
could not save themselves or
be saved.
It caused injury to some-
some of the injured had wounds that
became infectious.
It displaced some-
by uprooting their homes
and businesses
which left them distressed.

We must learn
how to protect
ourselves and our property,
if the storm doesn't pass us by.

Since we are having so many storms here in the United States and around the
world, I would like for the people who have been in a disaster or lost a love one or love ones or/and property, that my prayers are with them. My prayers are also with the heroic men and women who aided them during their time of need.

For hundreds of years, we have had tornadoes and they can only be dissipated by instability and wind shear.
What causes tornadoes?
Tornadoes form in unusually violent thunderstorms when there is sufficient (1) instability and (2) wind shear present in the lower atmosphere.

Instability refers to unusually warm and humid conditions in the lower atmosphere, and possibly cooler than usual conditions in the upper atmosphere. Wind shear in this case refers to the wind direction changing, and the wind speed increasing, with height. An example would be a southerly wind of 15 mph at the surface, changing to a southwesterly or westerly wind of 50 mph at 5,000 feet altitude.

If I might add 6/8/2015, we are having a tornado watch until 8:00 pm, as I type this in my area. It is not a major one but nevertheless, it is one and I am not happy.
Since I heard it on WGAL TV, I have been running from window to window. If the trees were really shaping up to be one, I would head for the basement.
We can't leave out the thought of a severe thunderstorm either. 10:00 or 11:00 pm
I guess, I can relax. It is the season.
