The politicians are responsible,
for all the wars we fight each day.
Yet when someone famous dies,
their remains are put on display.

While all the ordinary soldiers,
that answer each and every call.
Will never receive such an honor,
even though they gave their all.

Through the history of every war,
the soldier's struggle was living hell.
Most of them were never seen again,
their bodies buried where they fell.

It was not the deeds of politicians,
with all their promises and ploys.
Who won for us our right to freedom,
that so many in this country enjoys.

Peace on earth is what we strive for
and never again to hear someone say.
Let us bow our heads in silent prayer,
another brave soldier was killed today.
