Easy Street

across the street
all lives repeat
same motion
different directions

what makes each person motivate
is difficult to indicate
but watch to whom they gravitate

often unseen
chasing the green
they all have their dream
of eating peaches and cream
when budget allows only pork and beans

across the way on every street
they clamor for the positive beat

of easy street

I have no idea from whence the motivation came to write this piece. The first line, "across the street" popped into my head while I was playing mahjong on my computer. Sometimes my brain just does its own thing (I think it is alive!).
