joyous tears abound
after years, a miracle
baby girl is born
A little cry.
"Hello, little one."
A worried look. Fast fingers. Phone call.
Questions asked. No answers. Sirens blared. Paramedics arrive. Mother and baby bundled up. Lights and noise. All speed spent.
Beep... Beep... Beep...
Incubator. ICU.
Day one - tests and hope.
Day two - tests and worried looks.
Day three - relatives arrive; situation explained.
Day four - tears and whispered conversations; decisions made.
Day five - a hug. A kiss. Tears. Flick of a switch.
"Goodbye"
in so little time
you said 'Hello' then 'Goodbye'
