Encounter in the airport terminal in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The Kiss

by Sis Cat

You sweep into my hand to greet
me with my parted and parched lips.
Eye to eye and smile to smile meet
yours after I land from a trip.

Your skin so chill, so translucent,
I fear crushing your Solo cup.
Ice cold sweat beads touch embracement.
My fingers grasp and raise you up.

Our mouths meet. You taste sweet. . . and wet.
You taste sweat like the Salton Sea
where half of a sour green moon sets.
My hot tongue breaks through your icy

Surface and submerges to suck
your gold blood, your life, tu vida,
from your aching body I pluck
only to cry, "More tequila!"

I disembark in Puerto Vallarta and enter the terminal where Mexican greeters dressed as peasants thrust in my hand what I thought was a cup of limeade. It was not.

I thank susanlen for "Lime Sliced."
