Final Words

Final Words

Funny that you seek my company now
Insisting your allegiance all along
Nothing will replace those years without song
Although I have the class to let you bow
Love is offered me, while I wonder, 'how'

Winter's chill embraces, but I'm not cold
Only these few last breaths to sigh me home
Remembering is over, done's my poem
Death's a welcome ending when all is old
Spirits run free, but they've no hands to hold
