A chapter in the book The Heart of Poetry

When all is said and done

by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

When all is said and done my friend
This life is short at its best
It ends almost before it begins
In eternities realm of the blest

We may think
everyone will be there
For it's offered
to you and to me
But we can't expect
that place of sweet rest
If we deny Him before men
'Don't you see'

I'ts not difficult
to submit to His will
With a heart that is
honest and humble
But sometimes we stray
and go our own way
Running down the wrong road
makes us stumble

Pride gets in our way
and hinders life's path
If we try making it
through with no goal
When God is our strength
we need not try it alone
His Love forgives and
Restores the lost soul

When all is said and done
My friend
Life is short
At it's best

I'm working from my surface and can not import pictures at this time. I hope the poems message is not lessened by lack of presentation. Thanks, Carolyn
