I Dream of Sunflowers

by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

I dream of Sunflowers in a field
And think of all the seeds they'll yield
Some for birds and some for squirrels
Some for bouquets to brighten our world

I dream of Sunflowers bright and tall
Smiling and nodding to greet us all
Cardinals perch and feast on their smile
They bring cheer, to man, woman and child

I dream of Sunflowers in a nice sack
Roasted and salted just made for a snack
Ready to nibble and share with a friend
Crack, chew, spit and enjoy,,,, the end.

Minimal punctuation, each line has eight or nine syllables... I so enjoy Sunflower seeds.. Decided to write something totally light and silly....
