Kiss - A Four Letter Word

by Quoiky

When children are small they love cuddles,
And kisses given by mom.
They get a bit older, a kiss seems too much,
As their peers grin, and look on.

As teens, their emotions are reckless.
But to kiss them, it's at your own risk.
They'd rather be kissed by an alien slug
Than have a friend witness your kiss.

From teens to adults, tho it's gradual,
It seems so impetuously quick.
So promptly a toddler, a teen, then adult.
Oh! Please slow the progression a click.

Then one day their level of knowledge,
Is keen enough to admit,
A kiss from your mom is one filled with love,
And shouldn't embarrass a bit.

As a matter of witness, I might add,
I too, was guilty of this.
But, I wish my mom was here with me now.
So I could share one final kiss.
