The Snow leopard

by Jackarrie

This four legged animal has a beauty so sublime
Doesn't deserve the culprits of their heinous crime
Unlike other very large cats they're unable to roar.
So will they fade out of existence to become lore?

Snow Leopards have very large paws, for a reason
Stops them sinking into the snow, in the cold season
They are found at very high altitudes, in steep cliffs
Wary of their predators, so avoidance they must insist

Such habitats provide them the camouflage they need
Keeping out of sight from the hunter's ugly deed
Their long and powerful hind limbs allow them leap up to thirty feet
After stalking their prey, lying in wait to find their next meal to eat

Solitary in nature, it is only during the breeding season that they pair
Birthing in high rocky dens, so newborn cubs won't become a sad affair
