A Quill Through Casanovas Heart

by michaelcahill

A quill through Casanova's Heart

How slick this Casanova, his suave style;
each gesture lures you to his lusty trap.
You've lost all sense, his words spewed forth—beguile.
You swoon; but it's your virtue he'll unwrap.

I stumble forth with mumbled pleas, unheard.
A jester, seems I'm lacking humor's muse.
"I'll love you for all time".  You say, "Absurd".
You fall for his dishonest, selfish ruse.

My quill I set to granite--words so grand!
I'll dazzle with my heartfelt, soul-scribed song.
He speaks, his words are sugar in the sand.
The dawn reveals your sin; he's done you wrong.

Smooth talk and lies did win him a few days
Your eyes now see his hoax you so mistook.
Clear truth pours from my pen to lift the haze
We scribe our love eternal in our book.
