Funny fictional fight in rhyme.- contest entry

Off With His Head!

by rosehill (Wendy)

Sir Knight, you've deeply wounded me;
Our love besmirched so furtively.
The maid you chased so ardently
confessed the bedding, tried to flee.
Egregious was your perfidy!
And so your death I do decree.

My queen, have mercy, stay death's sting.
Forsooth, I'm not philandering.
What tales your chambermaid doth sing!
I spurned her when she sought a fling.
For her the death-knell bells should ring
Not I, your love . . .and future king?
