DISCO FEVER

by Jannypan (Jan)

Disco Inferno Poem Contest Winner
Set the stage; turn to mid-1970s page
Add a mirror ball; let it shine on all
Turn music up loud; dance and be proud
Unburden your mind; love you may find
Risk a new move; others feel the groove
Dance with grace; the floor's your space
Allow music to pervade; memories made
Youth's new wave; disco is the fave

New music in vogue; discos are not rogue
Invest in a flamboyant outfit; flashy nails it
Give platform shoes a fling; pile on the bling
Hustle to the beat; many moves repeat
Trousers that flare; maybe Afro hair

Feel the beat--let's jive; spin "Stayin' Alive"
Eyelashes are long; hats can't go wrong
Vibrant sequins shine; three piece suits so fine
Eyes behind oversize glasses; spandex for lasses
Remember attitude was king; you owned everything
