Reprieve

Reprieve
 
With hope of better times ahead
the darkness dread
as sorrows plague
reprieve, I beg
 
I wait for light to reappear
when ev’ry year
smiles just can’t feign
hope does remain
 
I struggle with this ev’ry fall
depression’s call
await sunlight
and spring’s delight
