My Forest Pew

My Forest Pew

The gurgle of the merry brook,
sun-sparkled nook,
fern-fancy breeze,
moss-seated ease

restore this nervous soul of mine
like church bell's chime
rings out the joys
concrete destroys.

I seek my chapel in the woods.
Lost neighborhoods
can't chain me there
when weather's fair.
