contest entry about God

Dear God

by Jackarrie

Dear God, are you listening,
I have so many requests
Not for myself but for those in need
I am not sure which God is listening
I am told there are many
So I will say you are the real God
The true one, who loves and cares,
The one who has given life to us all
The one who loves all of nature

But God I have a big problem
Because I feel you are not listening
When my sister lost her battle to cancer
My young niece committed suicide
Another one has four young kids
She has leukemia
She will leave them motherless.

And when Mother died roaring in so much pain
I am still waiting for your help with my grandchild
Shaved head and cannot play
The pain she has for a child is not mild.

I expected some response about all the wars
I thought you could stop the slaughter
The innocent people are suffering
Women and children subjected to rape

I wish you could send some cure for paedophiles
So our children can play out in the sun
I was led to believe you were all powerful

Good god where are you?
Am I praying to the wrong God?
