Writing Prompt write one tanka about: autumn .... withOUT using the words: autumn, fall, leaves, harvest, halloween, or thanksgiving ------------- rules for THIS contest: ~ 5 lines in the short/long/short/long/long syllable count of 31 or less ~ two grammatically-connected lines in lines 1&2 and lines 4&5 ~ line 3 (a fragment) is the pivot line and must be able to be read with both the first two lines and the second two lines ~ present tense ~ personification allowed ~ very minimal punctuation ~ capitalisation for proper names only ~ NO.... *NO word-end additions of -ing or -ly *NO rhyme *NO alliteration *NO author's notes *NO pictures/artwork *tanka do not have titles, for this contest the posted title must be: first line of poem ------------- *see details in announcement for examples |
