A shard of Gazza

Letter to the Daily Mail

by strandregs

I apologise if I am wrong.
I felt your pictorial article yesterday 27.07.2014, of a Gazzan shot dead by an Israeli sniper stank of bad journalism and cheap sensationalism.

How many times in the past ten years did you post full page pictures and stories of an Israeli town (Sderot) under siege, being subjected to an almost daily mortar attack?
Population running in search of a bunker (for ten years).
Imagine ten years as a child, a parent, experiencing choking fear every time the siren sounds.
Ten years. That's longer than the first and second world wars together (almost).
London was "only" bombed for four years.
What did England do?
Flatten, demolish, towns in Germany!
Now you post a full page
UNVERIFIED picture story showing a Gazzan shot by an Israeli sniper.
Shot in the chest laying dead.
Yet there is no hole in his shirt.
No blood on his shirt or the ground.
Have the Israelis developed a magic bullet?
I'll give you this.
Lots of people I asked what was wrong with the photos didn't notice.

But not all your readers are stupid.
And neither are you.
( The "metro" of Leeds said he was shot in the chest.
You didn't . How divisive of you.)
