haibun (needed rain)

            haibun (needed rain)

daylight arrives late as sun struggles to penetrate
through clouds. cool gray mist persists. parched
garden thirstily drinks nature’s nectar. dusty coat
washes away from foliage. sky lightens as dusk
approaches. last drops linger on leaves.

                              garden
                is now quenched and cleansed
                        rainbow blossoms
