Summer night

by robina1978

I am already in bed
but the sun still shines
and the sparrow whistles so loud!
I am already in bed
with my bear and doll

The radio plays
in the room downstairs
or is nextdoor with the baker?
Now I hear a tap.
Oh they are making tea again
and I am so horribly awake.

I am in my bed already
and not allowed to come out of it,
as the clock has called 7.00 pm.
I like a bit of cake
or half a biscuit,
but I don't dare to ask anymore.

I am already in bed,
playing with my toes,
and the sun keeps shining forever
And I think it is unfair,
that I lie in my bed,
all alone.
With closed curtains.
