Questions and Answers

Question the Maker and fight for the Ball;
Race round the Clock-face from cradle to pall;
Snatch at the Roses that die as they fall,
'Til Love, the Great Leveller, renders us small
And Time, the Unraveller, does for us all.

Sequel (Bookend)

Questions are answered; no more they devour.

Rose petals fall in a sweet-scented shower.

Stopped are the Clock-faces; now is the hour.

The Maker surrounds us with Love like a flower

And Time the Unraveller loses his power.
