I guess the sun shines through the curtain
just the same for all
but the rain against the pane is sadly mine.

I've tried to live this new life
as if I planned it.
Oh I try to sing the song and drink the wine.

But I haven't felt the future
though I've tried to hear my voice.
This life just echoes soundless as a sign.

I long to feel the dawn of day
enticing me to wander
to drink the wine but make me leave the vine.

I wonder if I just need expectation
for this "whatever" isn't really me-
no, I'm not fooled for now, my life's not fine.

I need to try and find my destination
then I will know exactly where to go.
I'll bid today good-bye and cross that line.
