Hunting Easter eggs

by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

A hundred and six eggs all lined up in a row
some are pink and blue and some of them glow
all are brightly colored with prizes inside
waiting for the bunny to take them for a ride

He'll hide them in the grass, by a rock or a tree
Easily found by ages two or three
For the big boys and girls ages four, five and six
He will hide them carefully under leaves and sticks

Boys and girls with their baskets, laughing as they run
under the blue sky and through the golden sun
Searching for the eggs that the Easter bunny hid
Parents watch with memories of when they were kids

Picking up eggs and wishing for some more
What a happy day, what fun to explore
all the little places where Easter eggs hide
what fun hunting for eggs with a friend by your side
