Gateway to the West

by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

Not very far from here
Is an awesome sight I love so dear
A hugh steel structure, 'Gateway to the West'
The Arch stands guard 'ore St Louis' best

Skyscrapers towering over the great Library
Federal Courts and Sanctuaries
Bask in the shadow of its grace
Historic St Louis, a memorable place

Botanical gardens, 1904 World's Fair
Famous Fox theater, Muny Opera's open air
Serene Forest Park and bustling Universities
The Arch opens up an area of diversity

Six Flags' extravaganza, always fun to attend
Or the Art Museum, a whole day you'll spend
Perhaps the Planetarium, or famous St Louis Zoo
An inexhaustible feat, the things you can do

The Arch welcomes all, attend a sports game
Cheer for the Cardinals, see Baseball's Hall of Fame
The Blues and Rams, their teams call it home
Or tour Grant's Farm where the Clydesdale's roam

Come see the Arch, I sincerely hope that you do
The 'Gateway to the West', is waiting for you
