The skies were white with happiness
Clouds drifting across a sun laden sky
Echoing brightness
On a forever kind of day

Children scampering noisily
Laughingly
Prancing upon beds of green
Stopping only to smell
The lily white petals
Of freshly bloomed flowers

Morning had come
And the Earth wakens
To a welcome mat of freshness

The old man smiles
And perches himself on the familiar bench
That has held his body so nicely
Over the years

He marvels at
The beauty of the day
And wonders where
Life will take him

He has wandered the Earth
And seen the stars
He had been to deserts
And crossed rough bridges

Now it was time to rest

He looks down
Upon the green

He picks up his grand daughter
She smiles
Hugging her closely to his heart
He kisses her as he smiles
And they vow a life of love

He had found his journey
