Where are the good times

A chapter in the book I Choose Rainbows

Indecisive

by sholessjo

The dusk settled at sunset
And the old man looked around

He could barely make out the shadows
Of the figures he saw
So much had changed
Over the years
So much regret
So much despair

Where had all the good times gone
When laughter was the soul of life
And people were the core of existence

Did they hide in the shadows of darkness
In a world worn thin
As existence fades to obscurity
And time makes irrelevant
The thoughts of his tomorrow

Or were they peaking
In an ever unfolding of destiny
To be rekindled
As the dawn unfolds
A new day

Only time would tell
And he prayed for sunlight
