Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
It's about an athlete who's lost his leg and how he copes up

Run

by futurescientist

I was walking and suddenly tripped and fell down,
It didn't hurt as I'm not human, just a lifeless noun.
Along with me, down went my crutch,
I tried hard to reach it and clutch.

I will always bear in mind, the day I lost my leg
To get it back, to God, I will not beg.
It had to happen and it happened that way,
From that day onwards, I've been going astray.

If I had been someone else,
I wouldn't have had any worry,
I'm now a shadow of my former self,
An athlete, who loved to hurry.

Gone are the days when I used to run and jump,
Now when I think of running, my throat has a lump
I do not cry for the limb I lost which was dear,
But losing my love is what I fear.

I can't even walk, let alone run,
I can't do it anymore, I'm done.
I pick up my running shoes which I used to wear,
And from my left eye, escapes a solitary tear.

It's not just a drop of water that runs down my cheek,
It reminds me of an athlete who was never this weak.
Oh! I forgot that there's something called a prosthetic limb
Now that I remember, I'll soon be back in the gym.

The limb won't change my life, it's my decision that will
If I give up running, everything will become still.
Life is a race, and I shall run without any fear
As long as I'm determined, hopelessness shall never come near.
