no quarter, no slack for
Gerald Rames was a good man as good men go
with a heart worn well
from a weakness for women
with no back up plan he planned to wing it
wouldn't it be wonderful to touch the what if
he wondered...
gravity gone
fading fast into memory
he descends
in swan dive down
snap!....back to reality
born under a bad sign
drinking deep indigent
spent years climbing mountains
framed from the depths of Detroit city
where life is real...not real pretty
what he found he fought for
survival of the fittest
no quarter....no slack
he climbed in spite with satan's cain strapped across his back
forged a friendship with impossible
soon after he kicked its unfriendly
ass
I watched Gerald Ranes from a distance
enthralled
not because he survived
but because he thrived
with no back up plan
he planned to wing it
wouldn't it be wonderful to touch the what if
he wondered...
