A true Christmas story
Paper Angel
by justjo66
Christmas we were so poor
No tree could we afford from the store A small tree was found in the woods Ornaments were made from household goods Shiny tin foil, beads, and children's art Decorations made from our heart One thing we would surely need An angel to sit on top we agreed Spare change was found Our beautiful tree was crowned A little paper angel looked from above Our home was filled with love Our youngest son came home Christmas Eve Just a tiny baby in a stocking sleeve Twenty one years little angel was there to admire Then it was time for her to retire Blonde hair thinning, paper dress tattered To my family it never mattered Lovingly placed in a glass display Now we can enjoy her everyday |
