Santa Trips and Causes Christmas Chaos
Christmas Postponed
by Treischel
All the Children's cries were noticed by everyone this year. Because Santa Claus was missing - his Sleigh and his Reindeer Just where could he be? They Wondered. North Pole was quickly phoned. All the Children's dreams were spoiled, as Christmas was postponed! Well...It started Christmas evening at Santa's first home stop, with the sleigh all fully loaded, upon that slick rooftop. The weather outside was frightful, With wet and blowing snow. Santa held a bag full Of bulky toys, you know. The old boy was a veteran Of many Christmas days. He'd flown through much far worse than this- an expert driving sleighs. So, he made it to that chimney, and slid right down with skill, Set gifts under the Christmas Tree - quiet and very still. He ate all the oatmeal cookies the family left out, And drank up the milk with vigor. Wiped the traces off his snout. Then ...Up the chimney chute he went, to get to the next place, as winter whipped the snow about To blind his rosy face. That was probably the moment he tripped on Vixen's hoof, and he must have lost his balance As he ---------S -----------L -------------I ---------------P -----------------P -------------------E ---------------------D off that roof. The reindeer could do nothing! Just stood on snowy roof Trying for Santa's attention; Shaking horns, pawing hoof. The presents stayed in Santa's sack, He held his leg and roared, while in the house, the children slept, And mom and daddy snored. "He laid out there for many Hours," The next morning's papers read. "He was sprawled in snowy flowers 'CAUSE THE FAMILY WAS IN BED!" |
