Blueberry Fairies

by Rdfrdmom2

while I was picking blueberries early this morn
with dew clinging tight to the grass
I saw movement where the bush had been torn
by a limb which fell three days past –
at first, I feared it might be a snake
for they are around here, aplenty;
as one of the limbs just started to shake
there they were, it was just about twenty
of bright little fairies dressed in all different hues
giggling when they saw my delight;
yet, they scattered away when I dared tell the news
I’d be eating blueberries all night
