This work has reached the exceptional level
A sea turtle swimming in the ocean

Heaven's Gift

by mermaids

hot sun releases rays
of healing
they travel up my skin
as I lay under their grasp

relief from work, bills
and elderly parents
the sun captures me in
an ocean warm

the salty air
travels into my nostrils
relaxing my skin
muscles less tense

my soul observes
another world
full of God's children
who dwell in the sea

this schooner is
on a journey in
the exotic Carribean
into another world

riding up and down
among warm waves
scanning the sea for
spotted dolphins

my life is far away
and I feel a treasure
is about to appear
yet God sends a surprise

swimming in the open
ocean is a giant sea turtle
my eyes become wide
my heart skips a beat

the turtle is comfortable
in his ocean home while
I watch in delight
a painting in motion

seeing this child of God
makes me feel good
he is not in an aquarium
but his rightful home

my eco friendly side
approves and watches
this important animal
swim away through delicate waves

the dolphins appear
diving and back flipping
I shout and marvel
my camera clips

breathing deeply
the sea air consumes
my lungs freeing me
from the material world

the sea turtle remains
a vision of beauty
forever in my mind
and hungry soul

God gave me a peek
into the beauty of a
sea turtle in his
environment of water

returning home with this
picture in my mind
no souvenirs or cameras
provide contentment like this

the sea turtle remains with me
through my world of responsibility
I return frequently to this
sea creature of freedom
