~Just a Particle of Love~
by Mike K2
Imagine a lonely dullard finding love
from halfway around the world; if it is only the faintest molecule, shouldn't it be herald? Even if it comes from opposites of different religion, culture and race, Are married, have children, and keep themselves modestly covered... Reflected in there their words, actions and eyes the spirited dignity, warmth, and love in their state of grace. With even a small amount of love received; perhaps so little most people would not perceive... One can walk through a desert of loving intentions unrequited, with a simple greeting for the day which remained un-united, in spite of a lovingly caring act that was harshly fought, or the evaporation of a drop of a smile that was sought. With a greeting, a kind word, loving glance, pleasant wish, or compliment by chance. One can dash a snake's grasp of a horny woman inebriated, or take the scorpion-like stings from a dame's profane rant unabated. Jauntily pass the withered trees who's idea of love is never free... The money they get sets their destiny of their lifeless souls being left to eventually burn. Not to mention love is the life-force that gets one through the dry canyons where any echo of love is severely spurned. A true loving soul is more like light, transparent and ever moving but it can be seen from afar and its point in view; even radiating as if off of the clouds at night. A real particle of love isn't presented as some yearly gift, but a loving gesture requiring no cost or time, just an effortless pleasantry for an objective soul to sift. No one ever knows the results, of a simple loving and friendly grace; whether it makes someone's day, improves their feelings or way, or in their heart finds a permanent place. Valentine's isn't a Celebration for just a day; but a daily and saintly way. |
In my life, there was never an honor so great to have a gaggle of woman join me in spirit on this site and in the world of poetry, and no greater hurt then to seemingly loose most of the friendship they offered. Call it the busting of my cherry in the perception of the poetic world. But every FanStory or poetic friend that remains or comes into my life is always an inspirational blessing.
With Facebook, I had gained many such friends as well, and never asked them why they decided to sign on with me. This includes Muslim woman from Malaysia and if I was told they would be signing on, I would call you F-ing crazy. I enjoy them for their outlook, as they can often bring up topics which I not only agree with, but also challenges me to think, reaffirm my values and to remember to stick to them.
My Islamic adventure involved Indian cooking and learning to cook Halal, which is the Islamic version of Kosher cooking. With that, I found a hesitancy as I felt the woman didn't want to steer me wrong or feared how they would be judged by their religious leaders. Yet, I gained much respect from Muslims, and in part because I stood for things they believe, but feared saying themselves, which is the paradox that needs to be overcome so their own society becomes much safer.
Many people don't follow life as we do or even care about beliefs or the fact their contributions in society can be much more lasting and positive. Much of the negative imagery I present is what I walk by everyday traveling too and from work. To see this area, all one has to do is watch the John Waters film, "A Dirty Shame." His idea about humor or bizarre sexual escapades isn't for everybody, but the movie's theme did approximate my marriage.
The thing is, not matter the realm of love, or even manners may present itself locally; it takes so small a caring act to renew one's own disposition. We sometimes forget this in modern day society.
Perhaps they see something in me as well. I live in Baltimore, and to see the area I walk though on a daily
