A chapter in the book Scribed Relief

To Find An Essence

by Jewell McChesney

After silence has spoken,
in this moment's reflection;
Expression bids my thought
in such languish my words linger,
appearing in my mind's eye
as unstrung pearls.
Some,
yet waiting to emerge,
forming treasury in knowledge,
Beseeching my spirit to create.
A jeweler, I become
awaiting the arrangement
of perfectly imperfect art.

Stillness sings an unsung tune;
one my heart already knew.
I become its composer,
beguiling, searching, yielding...
to the litany of lines
only a Power greater than I
can sing over me.

I am the messenger,
now waiting for the receptive heart.
I must find my feathered quill,
to delve deep for eloquent beauty
where music of the spheres plays
and beauty waits my pen,
as Divine images glow
on the canvas of souls.

Come with me?
I need a listener;
a co- creator-
one who has sought in mirrored agony
for revelation's light.
May we meet half way
as we rise on wings of eagles
and dance to aged songs,
between the lines
on paths many dare not tread.
Melodies of endless truth
awaiting our composition.

Our song beseeches
heaven and earth,
Solitude
has turned its volume high.
Do you feel
the rhythm I hear?
We are one in spirit
who seek for love's true song
and know it's been here
all along~

If in this moment
you hear my song
in written words of artistic notion,
or see creation's beauty
behind inspired thought,
Perhaps we have met
in moments where
our dreams coexist.
