MY DESCENT to tragic nightmares took
Years of drink and drugs.Vile abuse
Destroying your love for me.
Each day I hurt you more.
So hard to hear your
Cries in my head.
Etched in pain.
No! Don't
Touch!

Author Notes
Artwork by Alfie.....sadly perfect. Nonet - 9 lines with 9 syllables reducing to 1 in final line.
Have used a free-form narrative in a Nonet with a dual direction Acrostic of the title in capitals.
The descending slope of the Nonet seems visually appropriate to the theme.
A story we have all been touched by, up close or at distance. This is not my story but that of someone close to me who I understand well.
