Tall Tales
by justjo66
My daddy was a storyteller
Only a five foot tall feller He loved to spin a yarn Some as tall as our barn In summer to the river we would go What fun don't you know Our blankets all spread out We loved every moment without doubt The camp fire would blaze We would sit in a daze Then daddy would begin his tale He told them so well. The embers would glow The smoke would blow Indians stalked All the while my daddy talked. Banshee's would howl Panthers prowl The bears would get into the act My daddy had the knack Off to bed we all would go Down on the ground so low Ah, the stories we loved to hear But our dreams were filled with fear. |
Just for fun, memories of my daddy. Be kind...this was written for "my" pleasure. I know it needs lots of work. I will appreciate any constructive help. Thanks
