An Enjoyable Picnic

by sweetwoodjax

When I was in college, my roommates and I were friends with a preacher's son. He invited us to a dedication service at his father's church, which was about a two hour drive from the campus.

The cafeteria crew packed us a picnic lunch and we proceeded to make the drive to the small town church. It was a wonderful morning of singing and preaching, followed by fellowship with Michael and his family.

After we left the church, we went to the park in town and laid out some quilts to have our picnic lunch. We were lulled to sleep by a cool breeze and full stomaches.

I woke up about thirty minutes later and saw Michael walking down the park path. I told him the others were asleep and we went on a walking tour of the college campus across the street from the park. Unknown to him, I had a crush on him and being allowed one on one time with him was a marvelous feeling.

We later went back to the park to wake up my roommates, but I still remember the time I had him all to myself.

Thank you to connie c for the memories you invoked in me of a special picnic.
