Today we call upon the Lord
For all who rest from war
That rest that brings each to find
The truth that God in justice bind

Each one who fought for freedom to live
Well the desire for families that give
Each soldier brings forth a prayer this day
Families carry a flag waving to show the way

All the soldiers live today in peace
Seeking families formed for freedom released
This day the markers lie so clear in form
White all lined perfectly in a formations norm

Are they the ones who know of peace?
We hope some day with them to meet
Is peace to come only in the end?
When strife no longer can freedom end
