Tonight's Victim Was Kathleen

by Gungalo

There's a chill in the air but he doesn't care ...

She stood in the glow

of the lightning strewn skies,

staring out the window to the east.

Deep in thought she noticed not

the coming of him into the room

from shadows that danced on the walls.

Thunderous booming from the night's storm

drowned out any sound from his feet

across the white marble tiles.

When he was merely a hair's breath away

she turned suddenly and gasped ...

it was the last breath she'd ever take.

Piano wire about her neck garrote style

while he held her until she slid silent

onto the floor at his feet.

Laughing he removed the wire quickly

arranged her body in a sexy pose

then turned and left the way he entered.

Outside in the rain he looked skyward

felt the cool drops upon his warmed cheeks

and calmly strolled down the walk to home.

He loved the sound his shoes made

how the water squished beneath his feet.

He smiled each time and continued on.

Known as the Alphabet Killer

tonight's victim was Kathleen,

tomorrow night he would visit Lizzy.
